Responding with Compassion. Acting with Confidence.

Mental health affects every part of a person’s life—from how they think and feel to how they connect with others and manage stress. At the Spink County Coalition and SADD Chapter, we believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, and that early awareness, intervention, and support can change—and even save—lives.

Our Mental Health First Response program equips adults and students with the knowledge and tools to recognize the signs of emotional distress and mental health challenges. Just like CPR helps stabilize someone in a physical crisis, Mental Health First Aid teaches individuals how to support someone facing a mental health crisis until professional help is available.

Key components of our program include:

  • Youth and adult training sessions that cover topics like depression, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, and suicide warning signs.

  • Workshops in schools and the community that teach how to approach someone who may be struggling and how to connect them to the right support.

  • Partnerships with mental health professionals, school counselors, and crisis intervention teams to ensure a network of care is available.

  • Peer support initiatives that encourage students to look out for one another, reduce stigma, and promote healthy coping strategies.

  • Awareness campaigns and outreach events that create safe spaces for conversations and normalize asking for help.

Our mission is to foster a community where no one struggles in silence—where help is available, hope is real, and every person feels seen, heard, and valued.

By building a culture of compassion and understanding, we’re creating a safer, stronger environment for all. If you or someone you know is struggling, we’re here to listen and help you take that first step toward healing.
